Following on from another successful NZ Veterinary conference, we’ve got a couple of big events coming up we’d love to see you at!
But first, the NZVA conference where 100 years of the NZ Veterinary Association was celebrated in style, Healthy Pets NZ managed to raise over $450 again in our Silent Auction thanks to paintings donated by Kerikeri artist Tessa Brown. Tessa’s painting have helped us fund over $1200 of research so far and we can’t thank her enough for her generosity – not to forget those generous bidders who walked away with some awesome artwork too! Thanks to Alistair Stockdill, Laura Dodds, and Rose Gillis for your support and we hope you are enjoying your new artwork.
Right, I hope you’ve got your running shoes dusted off ready for spring, especially if you live in the vicinity of Christchurch. If you’re a keen runner or walker, and love hitting the tracks with your dog (or maybe you just love dogs!) then head along to the 4 Paws Marathon at Bottle Lake in Christchurch on the 1st October. Now in its fifth year, it’s a fantastic opportunity to get into the outdoors with your pooch and share the experience with a whole bunch of like-minded others. Get in before prices go up on 20th August. You can choose from distances from 5km to a full 42km marathon. And you’ve still got 6 weeks to train so there’s no excuses! Enter here
And finally, we’ve confirmed the dates and location for the HPNZ Dogs Day Out carnival for 2023. Mark your calendars for 7/8th October in Tauranga and join us and PD Insurance for our Paws & Learn seminars with Prof. Nick Cave & Dr Jess Beer on Saturday evening at the University of Waikato Tauranga Campus lecture hall; and bring the WHOLE family on Sunday for an action packed days of fun for everyone at the Tauranga racecourse. There’s lots more information below and check an eye on our website and Facebook page for updates.
If you can’t make it to any of the events and would still really like to support us, then head to our website and see the different ways you can help out like becoming a supporter; making a donation; purchasing artwork or get in touch with healthypetsnz@gmail.com
